Look for Less Vintage Gold Kitchen Rack
I spotted an antiqued gold rack with hooks in Shea McGee’s pantry and had to have one! But I didn’t want to spend designer prices so I “made one” myself. For around $20. And it was simple. Boom.
Materials:
The first step is to spray paint your rail and hooks black. I learned this trick from jennasuedesign.com and this base coat helps to make your gold topcoat look more “antique”.
Once that dries, apply the Rub n Buff with a small paintbrush to your rail and hooks. I applied in a slight circular motion to let some of the black show through.
That’s it for the real work! How easy is that?! Once it’s dry, it’s ready to hang. If you’re hanging this into a cabinet like I did, be sure your screws won’t hit the drawer once installed. I didn’t do that, but can totally see myself doing that. Ha!
Use a level to be sure your rod is straight and mark your screw holes with pencil. Choose a drill bit that’s slightly smaller thank your screw and drill pilot holes into the wood.
The last step is to use screws to hang your pretty new rack and style that cutie on up! If you make one, please tag me on instagram @hartley_home so I can see!
